Saggubiyyam Vadalu (Sago/Sabudana Vada)

This is a simple and very tasty snack. Best for evening tea time. I have learned this recipe from Vah Chef Sanjay (vahrevah.com)

Ingredients

1 cup Sabudana

1 large onion – finely chopped

1 large potato – grated

3 green chilies – finely chopped

1/2 tsp red chili powder

2 tsp rice flour

1 string curry leaves - chopped

Chopped fresh coriander leaves

1 tsp chat masala

Salt to taste


Preparation Method

Soak sabudana in water for 4 hours and rinse it thoroughly.

Take a bowl and add grated raw potato (make sure you squeeze them well, there shouldn't be any water).

Add sabudana, chopped green chilies, coriander leaves, chopped curry leaves, red chili powder, chopped onion, rice flour, chat masala and salt.

Mix well and make dough. If you find the dough too much sticky, you can add few more tsp of rice flour.

Now make small flattened balls and drop them in hot oil and fry until they are golden brown.

Serve hot with pudina chutney or coconut chutney.
